Spring at American Falls

On my way home from working in Meridian (near Boise) I stopped off in American Falls to see what I could see. There weren’t a large number of species, but there were some awesome birds.

I wish I could have gotten the gleam in this magpie’s eye.

This was my surprise bird, a Hooded merganser!?!

It wasn’t till I got home and was able to pull the photos up on my computer that I realized there was another Hooded merganser mixed in with all of the Goldeneyes.

And there were a LOT of Goldeneyes.
