9/25/21 A late afternoon visit to one of my favorite refuges: Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge I was not able to identify as many species as I hoped. Many were too far away and in non-breeding plumage all I could tell was that there were a lot of brown ducks.
It’s hard to see in these photos but there are red feathers/coloring around the eyes of these females.
I don’t know the name of this red plant, but it sure was striking
